The PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course) is for anyone at least 10 years of age with basic swimming skills, in good physical health who wants to discover the world underwater!
The first actual certification course, the PADI Open Water Diver course is comprised of three sections:
- Knowledge Development (which can be done online, as independent study or in a classroom) to provide the student diver with a basic understanding of SCUBA diving, including the equipment, techniques and safety;
- Confined water sessions, typically conducted a swimming pool, where the student diver practices basic SCUBA skills;
- Open water sessions, conducted in a lake or the sea, where you develop the basic skills further and explore the world underwater!
