Becoming a Rescue Diver is a challenge! But, the PADI Rescue Diver course is often referred to as the most rewarding course a diver will ever take.
PADI (Junior) Adventure Divers (requires 3 adventure dives, instead of the 5 required to be an Advanced Open Water Diver) at least 12 years of age who have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive may enroll in the Rescue Diver course.
You must have also completed the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR/First Aid training) course (or equivalent) within the previous 24 months.
On the PADI Rescue Diver course you will learn to deal with diving emergencies using various techniques. Knowledge development and exercises prepare you for rescue scenarios where you will demonstrate competence at self-rescue, awareness and recognition of potential dive emergencies, emergency management and equipment, rescuing panicked divers and unresponsive divers.
